Faizabad Interchange Expansion Is Finally Starting Soon
Very recently, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced that it will soon kick start the construction work on the much-awaited expansion of Faizabad Interchange once tenders of the project are floated.
The announcement was made in a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. They provided updates on the status of development projects under way, to be undertaken or on the verge of being undertaken within the federal capital. The chairman was told by the officials that the expansion project will continue with the final phase soon. Tenders to the project and the ground-breaking schedule are to emerge soon. The project would be able to relieve traffic near one of the hottest spots in Islamabad. The construction of the interchange eases the movement between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Faizabad Interchange Expansion is About to Start:
In the meeting, it was also unveiled that out of the 20 major traffic congestion points that have been pinpointed in Islamabad, 11 of those have already been addressed, with schemes to attend to the other bottlenecks well in hand. The progress of the ongoing construction at Shaheen Chowk and Kashmir Chowk was also posted. The CDA chairman ordered that the plans underpass should be finalized, as quickly as possible and the underpass should be built.
CDA is very vibrant in beautification and upgrading of strategic highways all over the city. This includes introduction of new LED and decorative lighting and repainting of the road infrastructure. Putting kerb stones so that enhances the aesthetics value and functionality of the required roads.
The chairman of the CDA also proposed the establishment of luxury shopping mall in Diplomatic Enclave. He underlined the provision of new entry and exit gates which are replicas of the ardent heritage of Pakistan. He emphasized the need to create walking and cycling tracks and also enhance the speed of modernization of operating and sporting amenities at the Gandhara Citizen Centre.
