Strict Punishment to Impose On Illegal Construction in Islamabad

The Administration of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has put a warning that no residential or commercial building would be allowed in the federal capital in future without its permission. This move was made after discovering the case of illegal construction in Islamabad.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon highlighted that the property owner, labour and supplier involved in illegal construction shall be subjected to stringent perusal of the law. According to him, the owner of the property and the one who performs the illegal labor will be accountable. He also instructs Magistrates to put the law offenders in check, instantaneously.

ICT to Impose Strict Penalties on Illegal Construction in Islamabad

The warning is meant to curb illegal and hazardous building works involving interference with the urban planning, blockage of drainage systems, and hazards. According to officials, unapproved buildings are often not subject to major safety inspections and zoning regulations. Those companies that offer construction materials without ensuring that the builder has legal right to work will also be punished.

The CDA urges the populace to ensure that they are licensed to engage the state in any kind of building activity. The information or necessary documents on the process can be found on official channels of CDA. The ICT administration pointed out that already demolitions and FIRs were the results of the recent crackdowns. Such a vigorous campaign shows that the city authorities are more vigilant as there is an increased number of unlawful constructions.

Through Land Information and Management System (LIMS) satellite mapping, authorities will be able to target and wipe out illegal developments expediently and efficiently. The technology technique will enhance the crackdown to be made dramatic.

Authorities again expressed their determination to save the planned development at Islamabad although they are going to be strict in the future.
